Harare’s ‘Sapiens’ is an excellent precursor read for this text. Homo sapien learned by copying each other, Stephanie Paul’s ‘Unlock the magic of story’ expands upon that premise and explains cleverly and concisely, why we have become the dominant species. It’s stories, rich and lascivious. It had me reeling. If writing were music, this would be what was hammered out on a double bass in dark corners of smoke filled jazz clubs.

Her blend of experience and research galvanizes her theories and helps her help each of us improve at getting our message not only heard, but remembered. This is a reference tool I will follow for all of my future presentations.
Stephanie was able to take heady information and brilliantly tell an easy-to-read story that caused the important content to stick. Her writing models what she teaches. This is a great teaching tool for anyone who speaks or writes, regardless of the type or size of the audience. My favorite and most impacting sentence that brought the whole book together for me was “Remember, if you are not having fun – then neither are they!” That summed up for me all the science, psychology, and behavioral connections presented combined with a reminder of the importance of being authentic, vulnerable, and creative in presenting any information. This was brilliantly written.

I loved the visuals the one on how the brain processes thoughts and shows that it’s about controlling your emotions because your brain automatically wants to process a certain way, effectively how to use your emotions productively.
